Dr. Darel Moss Wants Patients to Be Informed

Dr. Darel Moss believes excellence in dentistry begins with a careful diagnosis and treatment plan to establish the goals that will be achieved for each and every patient. Communication and long-term relationships are important to everyone. He encourages his patients to ask questions. That way he can help them realize an investment in themselves that will pay dividends for a lifetime.

It’s important to Dr. Moss that his patients are informed and knowledgeable about their dental health and wellness, from treatment plans and services to insurance coverage. He and the rest of his team are dedicated to simplifying what can sometimes be a complicated and confusing area of health care. Dr. Moss has been practicing dentistry in Brookline for more than 30 years.

His long dental career has been characterized by excellence. He began his lengthy and distinguished education at the State University of New York at Albany for his undergraduate studies, where he was a Regent Scholar Holder. He then attended the prestigious State University of New York at Stonybrook School of Dentistry, where he was one of 24 students accepted out of 1,453 applicants. He was chosen by his peers as class president for both his junior and senior years.

After his graduation from dental school, he entered into the General Practice Residency Program for 1977-78. Furthering his expertise in all facets of dentistry, he spent the next five years as an apprentice to Dr. M. Michael Cohen, Professor Emeritus at both Harvard and Tufts. His focus was on removable and fixed orthodontic therapies. This training culminated in spending 1984-86 in the United States Orthodontic training program.

Dr. Moss prides himself on the depth of his continuing education. He has taken and continues to take numerous courses on implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry annually at the Yankee Dental Conference. He has also taken advanced courses and spent many hours of observation at the renowned Bicon Dental Institute. He is also currently an American Dental Association member.
